Reed enters his third season as an assistant with the Saints wrestling program. He has helped the program put together one of the best seasons in program history in the 2015-16 campaign, only the third time in school history the team reach double digit wins in a season.
He also helped Caleb Rivera earn All-American honors in the 197 lb division in the 2014-15 season, and had two members of the 15-16 team qualify for the national tournament.
Prior to his time at Limestone, he served as an assistant coach at Darton State College and serving as a graduate assistant at UNC Pembroke the season prior. Before that, he was an accomplished student-athlete for Coach Revells at Newberry College.
During his tenure at Darton State, Reed coached eight National Junior College Athletic Association national qualifiers and three All-Americans. He helped lead the Cavaliers to the first Eastern District II Title in program history during the 2013-14 season.
He also monitored the academic progress, scouted potential student-athletes for DSC, oversaw the travel schedule and fundraising initiatives and started and maintained a youth program.
Before making his way to Darton State, Reed began his coaching career at UNC Pembroke as a graduate assistant during the 2012-13 season. While with the Braves, he coached multiple NCAA Division II national qualifiers and two All-Americans.
Reed wrestled for NCAA Division II member Newberry College in the 197-pound weight class. As a member of the Wolves, Reed helped lead the team to five straight Super Region 1 team titles and five consecutive national top-8 rankings.
He was named team captain during his senior campaign in 2012 and was ranked eighth in the Division II preseason poll the same year. His 2011 season would prove to be the highlight of his collegiate career as he earned a national qualification after finishing runner-up in Super Region 1.
Reed earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education/Teacher Education with minors in History and Coaching from Newberry. He graduated the National Wrestling Coaches Association Leadership Academy in 2013 and holds a North Carolina Professional Teaching Certification in Physical Education.
